My understanding is that if the original certificate is missing for any reason, service receipts from the official Patek service center and verified by them as authentic have far more value than an Extract. Extract from the archives is usually cheaper and doesn't require you to send them the watch like a certificate of authenticity. When you mail them a watch, you run the risk of loss and/or damage, and them taking MONTHS to get this done.
As the thread title says does Rolex issue a document similar to the extract from archives for Omega watches ? A document detailing the country of sale and year of sale . I have heard that the service center does that in cases when the dealer has lost the warranty card with the request coming from the dealer who lost the card.An Extract from the Archives can be provided without having to send the watch to the manufacturer, rather just numbers on the watch (any of case, caseback and movement) and perhaps photos.
