I purchased a YSL bag back in November, and when I came home and took it out of the bag I noticed that the monogram logo was all scratched up. I didn't catch this as the light didn't catch the scratches when I was inspecting it in store.

You could try a polishing cloth for gold and silver hardware. I did not use the Apple Guarde waterproofing spray on my Chocolate Muse, but I did use the Apple leather care lotion (moisturizer) on it when it started to look a little dry and faded. It worked great, and it helped make a few scratches disappear.
