The job lot box contained a complete '43 178, with the exception of a couple of movement parts. My complete movement matched the original exactly, and between the two I have a great working original period correct Venus 170. The case, dial, hands, etc. are all 178 originals as well. _________________. Dave. It seems like good ref. 178s are kind of hard to come by. I believe the Breitling ref 178 (two register up/down dial) from the 1940s was fitted with the Venus 170 movement. It can get very confusing for a newcomer to 1940's Breitlings - there was a Venus 178 movement but this was a three-register chronograph (not fitted to the Breitling ref 178).
